Xiaomi Mi 9 Detailed Review!
When it first appeared, Xiaomi’s new flagship Xiaomi Mi 9 was introduced, which is viewed with great doubt whether it can hold on even in the Chinese market, let alone be a global brand.
Powered by the Snapdragon 855 processor, Qualcomm’s most powerful processor, Xiaomi Mi 9, although it does not currently support 5G technology, its processor provides high-end processing power and gaming performance.
As with Xiaomi Mi 8, Xiaomi Mi 9 uses a Gorilla Glass protection layer on its front and back. The notches and frames Used in the Xiaomi Mi 8 are much smaller in the Xiaomi Mi 9. The Xiaomi Mi 9 also features a fingerprint reader from the bottom of the screen, which Xiaomi offers only to users on the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro.
The most notable part of the Xiaomi Mi 9 is its main camera. The Xiaomi Mi 9, which comes with a triple camera setup, comes with the main camera, an ultra wide camera and a 2X zoom camera allowing optical zoom.
It comes with the Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI 10 interface from the Xiaomi Mi 9 box, which can charge faster than the Xiaomi Mi 8. Before going through the detailed examination of Xiaomi Mi 9, let’s take a look at the characteristics of Xiaomi Mi 9.

Xiaomi has so far not introduced any smartphones that show resistance to water or dust. Xiaomi Mi 9 doesn’t show any resistance to dust and water. Starting with Apple’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, Xiaomi’s Mi 9, which implements the headphone jack removal stream in its new flagship model, does not have a 3.5 headphone jack.
Xiaomi Mi 9 Box Opening
The Xiaomi Mi comes with an 18W fast charger, USB – C cable and 3.5 mm – USB – C converter from the 9 box. As it is known, some Chinese brands, such as Xiaomi, produce smartphones, headphones do not come out of the box. Xiaomi Mi 9 doesn’t have headphones in the box either.
Xiaomi Mi 9 Design
The Xiaomi Mi 9, like many Admiral ship models, features a thin metal frame flipped glass design. With Piano Black, Lavender and Ocean Blue colour options, the Xiaomi Mi 9 also features a very stylish transparent colour option.
The piano black colour option has a bright black colour and fits your look with the reflection it has. The polished metal frame, which is curved, adds a Premium feel to the Xiaomi Mi 9’s look. The Xiaomi Mi 9 is one of the most stylish smartphone models of 2019 with its design.
When we move to the back of the Xiaomi Mi 9, we see a triple camera installation of the Xiaomi Mi 9. The first camera in the Mi 9’s camera setup has a resolution of 48 megapixels. The second camera is used in a telephoto task and is 12 megapixels. The Xiaomi Mi 9’s triple camera setup is complemented by a 16 megapixel ultra wide-angle camera. These cameras with OIS support also use 4-axis OIS.
The Xiaomi Mi 9’s camera setup has a serious overhang. Therefore, Xiaomi Mi 9 can swing if placed on the table when using it unsheathed. It is useful for users to use a sheath to avoid this situation.
Featuring a reflective rear design, the Xiaomi Mi 9’s camera setup offers a stylish look. The front of the Xiaomi Mi 9 features a Super AMOLED display. This 6.39 ” screen offers Full HD + resolution. Xiaomi fits into 2019 fashion instead of using a wide notch on the Xiaomi Mi 9 model, the water drop we see on the Huawei and Samsung models is switching to the notch. This drop of water found in Xiaomi Mi 9 is positioned in the middle of the notch phone. The front camera of the Xiaomi Mi 9 does not offer the facial recognition features offered by the iPhone X.
Xiaomi Mi 9’s handset grille is long but very thin. Just below this grid, which fits into the frame, is the notification light. The Xiaomi Mi 9’s ambient light sensor is also hidden in the bottom left of the screen.
The Mi 9 comes with a fingerprint reader from the bottom of the screen. Previously, only the Mi 8 Pro model used under the screen fingerprint reader Mi 9 models also came to a decision in place.
Xiaomi, as it is known, had said goodbye to the 3.5 mm headphone jack a few years ago. The Xiaomi Mi 9 also lacked a headphone jack, which did not disappoint many Xiaomi users.
The Xiaomi Mi 9, with a slightly larger screen, has a size of 155 x 75 x 7.6 mm, which is the same as the Mi 8, and the Mi 9 has a weight of 173 grams, which is 4 grams less than the Mi 8.
Xiaomi Mi 9 looks great with its design lines. In addition to the glass design, its simplicity and elegance complement each other perfectly. The visual feast of the Super AMOLED display combines with a fingerprint reader underneath the screen, resulting in a flawless smartphone.
Xiaomi Mi 9 has a water drop notch. Offering a full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels with a magnitude of 6.39”, the Mi 9’s display has a pixel density of 402 ppi. Offering a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio, the Xiaomi Mi 9 offers one of the best display experiences.
Xiaomi Mi 9’s fascinating display is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6 glass. Offering a fairly good 430 nit brightness for the OLED display panel, the Mi 9’s display delivers successful results under sunlight conditions.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 comes with a modest 3,300 mAh battery, since the Xiaomi Mi 8 comes with a 3,400 mAh battery. The Xiaomi Mi 9 supports both wired and wireless charging.
The battery of the Xiaomi Mi 9, which comes out of the box with an 18 W charger, can charge from 0 to 45 percent in half an hour with the adapter that comes out of the box. However, if this charge is not enough for you, you can buy Xiaomi’s faster charging adapter for a small price and charge Mi 9 faster.
The new charging technology, which the Mi 9 calls the Charge Turbo, supports 20W wireless and 27W wired charging. In our tests, when we charged Xiaomi Mi 9 with a 27W fast charge adapter, we found that it charged from 0 to 70 percent in half an hour. It takes only 65 minutes for the Mi 9 to be fully charged with this adapter.
In our tests, the battery of the Xiaomi Mi 9 offers an impressive 95 hours of standby time. Xiaomi Mi 9 offers 23:32 minutes of talk time, while its gorgeous screen offers 12:16 minutes of internet browsing and 16: 57 minutes of video playback time.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 model features many innovations and uses the same speakers as the Mi 8 model. It’s really sad that the Xiaomi Mi 9 doesn’t have stereo speakers. The very good sound quality of Xiaomi Mi 8 continues in Xiaomi Mi 9. The sounds are clean and have rich tones.
Xiaomi Mi 9’s sound quality is satisfactory. If it had Stereo speakers, the result would certainly change, of course, but Xiaomi’s own choice.
Xiaomi Mi 9 user interface
Xiaomi Mi 9 comes with the MIUI 9.0 launcher, which is based on the latest Android version, Android 10 Pie. Xiaomi simplifies the interface even more with MIUI 10.
One of the most notable changes with MIUI 10 is the icons that change with the visual changes. Along with the icons that have achieved a very stylish appearance, Xiaomi Mi 9 also has some important features.
Always on display so Always On Display looks great on Xiaomi Mi 9. Users can customize this screen as they wish and apply their own themes. Navigation movements are preserved with MIUI 10. Offering a seamless and fluid experience, MIUI also supports 10 picture-in-picture features.
MIUI 10 offers today’s sine qua non dark theme support. With its AMOLED display, users can use their smartphones more easily at night, while also saving battery.
Along with Xiaomi Mi 9, we see a feature we’ve seen on Apple’s macOS Mojave operating system. Xiaomi Mi 9’s wallpaper changes for 24 hours. Even though we have seen this feature on Mac computers, it is nice to be introduced by Xiaomi to smartphones.
The Xiaomi Mi 9’s Task Changer differs from other Xiaomi models. MIUI 10 comes across as the MIUI version that offers the most customization and security so far.
Without a physical fingerprint reader, the Xiaomi Mi 9’s fingerprint reader delivers results as fast as the first generation Touch ID.
